Classes begin Thursday, September 10 at 7 pm – Neil Balkwill Centre
Interested in learning to hand carve wood? The Regina Whittlers and Wood Carvers offered classes for beginning carvers. The class starts Thursday, September 10th at 7 pm. Classes will be held the second Thursday of each month at the Neil Balkwill Civis Arts Centre – 2420 Elphinstone Street from 7 pm to 9 pm.
Beginners will be provided with a knife and gloves for the evening. No need to buy tools to begin with. Suggestions for tools will be made during the course.
Membership is $30 to join the club. This will cover a membership until January 2028. There is also a materials cost of $25 for the beginner class to cover the cost of the wood.
The third Thursday of each month is also our regular club carving night: Carvers can work on their own projects, or have an option to buy a blank (a partially cut out project) for the monthly project for $5. Assistance in carving from other members is always available, and those in the beginner classes are always welcome to join these club carving nights.
