On March 28, 2026, RWW will be hosting a pyrography (woodburning) class, hosted by RWW member, Julia Dima of Folk and Fan Woodburning and Art.
The project for the class will be a barn owl portrait. Class cost is $100/person for RWW members, and $120 for non-members, and covers materials, venue, and instruction. Pre-registration is required, to ensure enough materials. If you’re interested in registering, contact Club Secretary Herb Klassen at rww@myaccess.ca
Participants are encouraged to bring + use their own Woodburning kits, especially if they have wire-nibbed + temperature controlled tools (such as Razertip, Colwood, Peter Childs, Optima, etc.) 3 wire-nibbed professional tier burners + 13 Walnut Hollow hobby woodburners will also be provided for those who do not have their own woodburning machines.
Participants with smoke extractors are encouraged to bring them. Those sensitive to smoke are encouraged to wear masks. Woodburning produces a minimal amount of smoke, but those who are sensitive may be bothered.
Participants with their own pencils, erasers, sharpeners, painter’s tape, scissors, tracing paper, transfer paper, can also bring those if they’d like, but all these materials will be provided along with the basswood oval + reference artwork.
